How is olive oil made?

I would like to know how it is made from scratch. How is olive oil made?
press olives, extra virgin is from the first pressing, later pressing are less pure and more bitter, you really need have olive trees, like in orchard proportions to make it from scratchHow is olive oil made?
press an olive
The olives are put in a press and, umm, well, pressed and out comes the olive oil. In fact what you got is Virgin olive oil. That's all Virgin means, that it is pressed without any heating or steam or chemical extraction.
Here is a website that you can buy an olive oil press from. But simply put, you press and olive in order to get the oil out of it.
maybe an olive tree?
Visited an olive grove and oil processing plant while traveling in Spain. The olives are taken by conveyer to large presses where the oil is extruded through a series of pressings and the oil gets refined. Vigin oil is determined by the acidity of the oil, not necessarily the pressing although first press is often virgin. Very interesting procedure.
They simply press a bunch of olives until all the moisture (oil, water) is extracted. They do this several times.

The oil from the first press is whats known as ';Virgin'; Olive oil.
Put a bunch of olives in a barrel and step on them.

Watch the pits though , they are hell on the feet.
