Question about olive oil, Why is some more expensive than others? ?

My teacher said something about it being more diluted....idk but i really need the answer! :[Question about olive oil, Why is some more expensive than others? ?
Most things that are grown like wheat, corn, are known as commodities along with cost of growing harvest and quality, demand and availability on commodity stock market determines the cost of olive oil. Other oils that are are more expensive like peanut oil, walnut oil, almond oil and avocado oil etc.Question about olive oil, Why is some more expensive than others? ?
It depends on the method used in processing as well as the care taken. Extra-virgin comes from the first pressing of the oils, and is done without heat, so as to avoid damaging flavor. This creates a high-quality oil, but because you can't get as much oil that way as you can in the heat-processed Pure and Light olive oils, EV costs more. Certain companies select their olives with more care, meaning they are using more expensive olives, and use more hand processing methods, which also adds to the cost of high-end oil.
She's right. (I hate you! lol)

The reason why olive oil varies in price from afforable to ';why they hell would I pay that much?'; is because the first extraction of the olive is the purest and best. After that you get additives and weakness with the oil. It doesn't quite have the flavor that Extra Virgin Olive Oil does. You get what you pay for! That is if you know what you're buying.
Extra virgin comes from the first pressings of the olives, it's the best, most expensive. Lower grades (virgin, regular, light) come from subsequent pressings.
