No, the age-old way to start labor is by drinking castor oil. Generally, you would want to drink it with orange juice or coke -- something sugary to help it go down. It is awful tasting. This should not be done unless you are at the end of your term and it should be done under the care of a health care professional, doula, midwife, ob doc, etc. The castor oil makes you have violent diarrhea and definitely cleans out your system, so be prepared. In theory, the contracting of your lower GI due to the diarrhea will help commence labor contractions.

no but it will probably make you sick and make you poop everywhere when you do give birth
I think you'd get a wicked case of diarrhea.
