What is the differences of olive oil and cooking oil?

Well they both can be used to cook with. Different colors, though Olive oil is more greenish while Cooking oil is a yellowish color, but oddly enough there are different varieties of Cooking oil and Olive oil can be thought as a Cooking oil. Olive oil is not necessarily used only for cooking though, it can be served as a dip for bread or a salad dressing as well. Plus Olive Oil is healthier. What is the differences of olive oil and cooking oil?
Cooking oil is made from Vegetables and the most popular today is ';Canola Oil';, which used to be called ';Rape Seed'; oil. Alberta and the Peace River area is the largest producer of Canola oil. Olive oil can also be used for cooking, it is actually a very healthy oil to use. What is the differences of olive oil and cooking oil?
Olive Oil is made from extracting oil from green olives. The First press (mechanical) is really flavor full and should be use only for finishing and vinaigrette's and not for cooking since it has a very low flash point (Temperature at which the oil burn and become highly unhealthy). Cooking oils are selected for their capacity to sustain high heat ex: canola, refined peanut oil, corn.

My favorites would be Grape seed for cooking (extremely healthy and high flash point ) and extra virgin olive oil, sesame, hazelnut, walnuts, Truffle Oil (oil infused with Truffle mushrooms) for seasonings and finishing. Bon Appetit
olive oil is more good for you and people dont only use it for cooking
no differance...except Olive oil is healthier and better when used in salad dressing
Cooking oil could be any kind of oil, Vegetable, canola, or even Olive oil. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is used for flavoring. It is very dark yellow. The lighter the color, the lighter the flavor.
