Can i put olive oil on baked potato or would it be nasty? How about olive oil as salad dressing?

There is nothing more natural than olive oil , you can use it on any dish I use it in salad, a baked potato and some olive oil a dash of salt and pepper is a yes in my book! Can i put olive oil on baked potato or would it be nasty? How about olive oil as salad dressing?
I don't know about the baked potato deal, but try using equal parts oil and vinegar, then salt and pepper to taste and mixing it with your hands over your leaf lettuces. Gives an entire new twist on salads, and is quite delicious!

(HINT, use only a small amount, for example, perhaps maybe 1/8 cup of each if that on a large salad.) If you're an experienced cook, you'll know just by looking - you don't drench it, you just kinda wet the leaves, it'll soak up more as it sits. Can i put olive oil on baked potato or would it be nasty? Olive oil is often used as a dressing for salad..usually mixed with a bit of (balsamic) vinegar. I don't know why you would want to put olive oil on a baked potato, but it probably wouldn't be nasty unless you put a bunch. maybe brushing the outside of the potato with olive oil before baking and coating with kosher salt would be good. Inside the potato I would stick with butter or margarine.
Good olive oil with give it a slightly olive taste..it's better than slapping butter all over it, olive oil has good cholesterol and no trans fat.

Just sprinkle oregano and grated hard cheese on top ot the olive oil. Parmesan is good, romano, the pecorino kind, better.
Olive oil? hu?

Well for the bake potato i would go with old fation butter, sowercream and chessse. salt pepper if wanted.

Salad dressing people us oil all the time just dont over due it, u can take the oil and add like pepper flaks to it so it can have some flavor. But there are just some ider.

I hope all gose well
I would suggest a lighter olive oil when making dressings. Sometimes the heavy taste of extra virgin is a little too much and can kill the subtleties of lighter tasting ingredients in some dressings. On a potato will be fine.
Use it the same as vegetable oil on potatoes and salads. I buy the ';Newman';s Own'; italian salad dressing, which is made with olive oil. I have drizzled that dressing on baked potatoes too, tastes good.
you can put oil on a baked potato and then grill then in a pan chopped up or bake them. it makes them taste less dry. and i put olive oil as salad dressing all the time. but i make sure to add some seasoned salt or vinegar.
why yes indeed you can do that!! ..Cheff's all over London wouldn't have it any other way ..it gives the salad a nice texture and it makes the potato crispy ..some parsly would give it a nice look
