Is it possible to make shortcrust pastry using liquid fats e.g. vegetable/olive oil,and how?

Alwaysmoose is right. It does make the crust anything but flaky. My mom is a superb cook, and she only uses those little blocks of butter flavored Crisco for her pastries.Is it possible to make shortcrust pastry using liquid fats e.g. vegetable/olive oil,and how?
