Can you use olive oil as a pizza sauce(no red sauce)?

I dont want to use a red/white or pesto sauce just olive oil does anyone know if this works alright.

I still want a gourment pizza just no red sauceCan you use olive oil as a pizza sauce(no red sauce)?
Sure. Pizza back in Italy is eaten more as a bread like we would eat rolls or slices of bread. They just bake it with vegetables. You could do an Italian pizza with olive oil, sliced mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. Just season with salt and pepper. Or you could do chicken, pineapple and green pepper. Whatever your heart desires. Happy cooking! Can you use olive oil as a pizza sauce(no red sauce)?
Yes! Just oil the dough...
Of course you can! It won't really be a 'sauce' but it will add wonderful flavor the the crust and toppings. I recommend flavoring the oil - sprinkle with garlic, basil, oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, or sun dried tomatoes - or a combo. happy cooking!
Hi Yes. use a very fruity aromatic high quality extra virgin olive oil. this is great for vegetable pizzas especially cooked on the grill
You are limited only by your imagination! I make pizza all the time and I do not like red sauce,so I might put all kinds of pretty colored veggies and cheese only, because cheese is fatty you do not need oil, but if you decide to use no cheese use olive oil.I may use groung meat and cheese or for breakfast I may use sauteed onions and peppers and scrambled eggs and the onions and peppers had oil in it. I've used pieces of leftover pork or steak and leftover veggies with spices, since cheese is hi in cholesteral.
Sure you can, but don't you also want some vegetables and grated cheese?
absolutly you can use olive oil, it will give your crust a nice golden color, its more like focaccia bread then anything that way.. my favorite is carmalized onions over the top..

but you can go traditional as well. sliced tomoatoes, basil and fresh mozz.
sure

red sauce is better
Yes you can use olive oil, but it won't really be a ';sauce'; it will mostly just flavor the crust.
If you use an olive oil that is good quality, and add some fresh basil and garlic to it, as well as fresh tomato's and fresh mozzarella cheese, it would be great. Make sure that you don't use too much oil, as it will be a greasy mess. I also wouldn't use any meat on this, as it would add too much grease too.

Hope this helps.
