Can you use Olive Oil to cook pancakes?

I haven't cooked a pancakes for years and can't remember whether you have to add butter or Olive Oil to the frying pan. Does it matter what you add?Can you use Olive Oil to cook pancakes?
yes, it will work but the pancakes will taste like olive oil. Butter is better. Can you use Olive Oil to cook pancakes?
Alittle unsalted butter would be better if you have it. If not you can use some Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the Extra virgin doesn't refer to how healthy it is, just how mild or strong the flavor is.

You shouldn't need much of either of them as long as you don't have the stove on to high and they start to stick. If your using a non stick pan still use alittle oil or butter. I'm old fashioned and just use casted iron cookware. If you are using casted iron remember the season the pan well before use.

Oh and next time you go shopping look for Pecan Maple syrup its great.

Happy Cooking
i prefer canola oil. it is still a 'healthy' oil but it won't make the pancakes taste like olives. i'm not a big fan of olive oil anyways but if you dont have any other oils around just use butter or pam. anything non-stick that goes in a frying pan, really.
If you're making savoury pancakes then using olive oil is fine but you're making sweet then use butter.
Butter is best, otherwise use cooking spray, canola or vegetable oil, or corn oil. olive oil will taste a bit off.
i personally use vegetable oil but i think it depends on your personal tastebuds
if you like olive flavored pancakes
I recommend spraying it with Pam.
Don't do it! It tastes weird like that.

Use butter.
