How do you create that nice golden look that you normally get on a baked good when you brush it with olive oil?

Don't brush with oil.

Use a beaten egg.How do you create that nice golden look that you normally get on a baked good when you brush it with olive oil?
if it is something salty, then brush a little soy sauce on it. if it is sweet, brush a little egg yolk on it or sprinkle a little sugar on top~ white sugar, brown sugar or cane sugar. any sugar would be fine.you can also use a bit of honey and water. i haven't tried the sugar and honey thing but i think it works. hope it helps! How do you create that nice golden look that you normally get on a baked good when you brush it with olive oil?
Rather brush with a whisked egg, it cooks to a beautiful golden colour. When you take it out the oven, brush with melted butter so make it shine.
On baked breads you can use Eggs or milk

On Baked chicken or potatoes use butter and it gives it cripy golden look.

Commonly, the golden brown ';look'; you get on your freshly baked items comes from an egg wash (one beaten egg with a splash of milk or water), not with oil. But, good question though.
Egg wash! Beat an egg with just a bit of water or cream. It works every time, especially on baked goods.
olive oil is not for baking. use a beaten egg mixed with a tsp water
