Is frying in olive oil as bad as frying in conventional oils?

Is frying in olive oil a little better than true frying or is it just as badIs frying in olive oil as bad as frying in conventional oils?
RAW (especially cold-pressed) olive oil is a very healthy fat. When you heat it excessively, though, the chemical composition changes and it quickly becomes very UNhealthy. If you olive oil gets hot enough to smoke, don't eat it.

It isnt true that all fats are created equal... Saturated fats have gotten a bad wrap in the media lately, but they are actually the best option for frying at high heats because they do not naturally form ';trans-fats.'; Chemically speaking, they handle high heats better.

If you're talking about using some oil in a fry pan while you saute veggies or something, olive oil is fantastic. If you're talking about deep frying or even frying meats or something at higher temps, consider instead using coconut oil, which is a healthier saturated fat alternative.

And it almost goes without saying... fried foods are okay as a ';treat'; once in a great while, but should largely be avoided in your diet.Is frying in olive oil as bad as frying in conventional oils?
olive oil cannot be heated to the necessary temps for deep frying without burning it, and it's the burning that creates free radicals which then damage your circulatory system. so no, olive oil is not intended for nor is it good for deep frying foods. Used in a pan fry is fine.
The composition of ANY oil heated to frying temperature....becomes unhealthy, regardless of source.
